@MitchW It looks good. I hadn’t gotten around to trying it, but I did try things like Notion. I like the simplicity of UpNote but if I wanted something more feature-rich I’d try Obsidian.
Read more@jthingelstad I am not an Apple person, but it looks cool. I know a lot of people who swear by organizing around their calendar and it makes sense. A lot of what I do and track is less date-specific though so never been the best method for me.
Read more@gregmoore I practice parent-cycling but even that isn’t working anymore.
Read more@warner I’ll lecture for about five minutes and then it is icebreakers and round robin.
Read more@jasonmcfadden It is A+ cringe with a nice tour through what-once-was.

Read more@gregmoore I am not sure the article presents any real solutions, but I can commiserate for sure especially about it being easier to not read rather than read. Worse, I get angry when a website has a clickbait headline saying this article is a matter of life and death for me to read, but has the gall to put it behind a paywall! Do you want me to be uninformed and/or dead?
Read more@Aywren If I had the time and talent, a self-perpetuating MUD could be a ton of fun.
Read more@gregmoore I am not as formal as I would like to be, but for longer games, it is a must to keep me focused.
Read more@jasonmcfadden That’s a good one!
Read more@Aywren My wife hates that I am able to do this, but I have quit games on the final boss or the final dungeon just because they aren’t doing it for me. I am lucky to have no completionist bone in my body (save for a few very select games). If it isn’t working, I move on.
Read more@jasonmcfadden There isn’t any one platform that I would say is worth it unless you have extra cash or enjoy being an early adopter. Some of the cheaper options are good for more basic gaming, but core gaming experiences are harder to find. It reminds me of early touch gaming. For me, it is worth it, and I think the medium presents some unique challenges and experiences. I also understand that hardware costs are pretty far off for most people.
Read more@jasonmcfadden I did! Thank you. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I used to blog more regularly on WordPress so I thought it might be nice to have this avenue. I am in school again and my work requires a lot of writing so sometimes I have “extra thoughts” that don’t have an audience or just need to escape my brain. Hoping this will be a good holding pen!
Read more@jasonmcfadden I don’t spreadsheet to that extent, but I agree that setting aside clear time boxed playtime can be critical for larger, longer games. Steady, focused progress keeps me engaged. For some of the longer games, I can tune out after I miss playing and become disinterested with finishing.
Read more@Aywren It is a struggle this week, but it is a marathon not a sprint, etc. etc.
Read more@gregmoore Thank you! I’ll settle for 15+ too!
Read more@Aywren Thanks! Still a work in progress, but it is a nice project to have in the back of my mind.
